Garden planting

Today was Memorial Day so we had a cookout. We have a firepit in the yard that sees a lot of use in the summertime. This was our first cookout/marshmallow roast of the year, we cooked hotdogs and then marshmallows. Baths all around tonight. ;-)
It is supposed to storm tonight so we were racing to get the potatoes in. We planted 15 rows of Russian Banana Fingerling, 3 rows of Onaway, 3 rows of Carola, and 10 rows of Rosegold potatoes. The Carola and Onaway are new for us this year, it'll be interesting to see how they turn out. We can a lot of potatoes because we don't have a decent cellar/basement to store them in. Then we planted 90 square feet of Chantenay carrots. We really like carrots too, lol. We buy our potatoes from Wood Prairie Farm, check them out here.

  1. Having lived in the city for the past 30 years or so, I'm not familiar with the types of potatoes you've mentioned. I'm excited to find out what they are! My garden, if any, will be a paltry affair this year, but wait til next!
